The Ellerslie Manor House, a historic property circa 1714, is located directly next to our outdoor ceremony space known as “the secret garden”. If having ceremony on the patio, the Ellerslie Manor House serves as a lovely backdrop for photos. Originally, the Manor House was built on a large track of land and had a wheat farm behind it that later became a residential subdivision. The acreage in front of the Manor House was sold off and eventually became La Luna Banquet Hall. At the turn of the century, the house became known as The Ellerslie Manor House, named so after Ellerslie, the neighborhood of Bensalem it was located in. It is one of the oldest colonial period structures not only in Bensalem but in all of Bucks County.
After undergoing gentle renovations in the Fall of 2015, The Ellerslie Manor House is now available for rental. It may be booked for your bridal party on the day of your wedding as the getting-ready-and-taking-photos area, as well as overnight accommodations for 2 to 4 people. On the first floor, there is a large entrance hall with a spectacular wrap-around original birds’ eye maple staircase spanning three full floors, the Groom’s Lounge featuring stately 10 foot ceilings, the groom’s dressing room, and a powder room tucked under the stairs. On the second floor, there are two large rooms, the bridal suite (aka The Bridal Salon) and the Honeymoon Suite with a full spacious bathroom. There is a cozy loft den and an additional charming bedroom with a dormer window (aka The Chimney Room) on the 3rd floor. There is a little red barn on the grounds, a rustic backdrop for outdoor photos. Amenities include cable TV (two TV sets), free Wi-Fi, refrigerator, coffee/hot tea maker, microwave, hair dryer, iron and ironing board.
Priority will be given to La Luna wedding couples to book this space on the day of the wedding. Depending on availability, the Manor House may be booked one day before and/or one day after the wedding. Currently, we only offer it to booked La Luna clients (not open to general public).
